I feel like I am always on a quest for the "perfect" calendar, planner, PDA, you name it. Once I think I have found one, my excitement mounts. I can't wait to transfer all of my data from the old (largely unused) before-I-bought-this-one-you-were-the-perfect-calendar then the regrets begin. This planner isn't the color I really wanted, or it's too big, too bulky, etc.
If it is an electronic model then I either forget to sync it to my computer and I lose all the data I've input or I forget to actually put dates and appointments into the thing so I am continually missing events. Or, even worse, I find myself putting some appointments on paper, some electronically and believe me, never the twain shall meet!
As a writer I assume that if I find the perfect place to store all of my outside commitments then the time I can devote to writing will magically appear. I don't think that will happen, but I did come across a site that offers planning tips, calendar options, and discussion forums. They also offer free templates. Just make certain that once you go to check it out, that you don't get buried in the forums and push your writing off to the side!
There are also templates you can print out and use and tools to help organize other parts of your life.
